Has anyone seen the new spring loaded hop up and barrel arrangement of the hicapa gold match? It seems to provide better fops consistency. Has anyone tried to replicate it with regular outer barrels? It looks promising!

Looking for an opinion on slides. I have two slides available for my TM 5.1 from a local vendor and was hoping on an educated opinion?

I'm new to the GBBP and been reading through most of the 130 pages of this thread and trying to learn as much as I can about the hi capa so I don't ask stupid questions. Can't say I understand it all but I'm trying :D

Sounds like a lot of builders here like the SD brand slides, well... The IK slides are really nice but can't seem to find them anywhere!?!? What happened to illusion kinetics? And illusion for that matter?

Anyways share your thoughts on the two choices I have or recommend others if these aren't good!

I just put a Prohandgun slide on my Hi-Capa after install and hand racking (for like 20m)it is amazing :)

How was the install? Was it a drop in?

both the slides you posted should be drop in (mine was drop in), and aside from it being hard to hand rack at the start (use some lube) it was easy

Which outer barrel did you use? I read that it's best to match the outer barrel with the slide...

You can continue to use the plastic one if you really want, i have a ZC outer barrel (fixed) which seems to work fine,i cant seem to find Prohandgun outer barrel in stock anywhere so yea.

Hmmm... Did some searching around and came up with the same results. Seems like the outer barrels are hard to find for both slides. SD seems to be easier to find when searching but everything is out of stock. Being as this is my first build I think I'll listen to the wise and keep the slide and outer barrel matched from the same source. Thanks bahhwa for answering my questions!

Illusion is done with airsoft if I recall. You should look into other retailers like Airsoft Masterpiece, NOVA, Airsoft Surgeon, UAC, etc...
