usually cuz pistols are used in CQB so the lower fps will prevent injuries.

still doesnt answer the question of why different limits for pistols, regardless of them being used indoor or outdoor.
whether its a pistol, a bolt action, or an AEG, anything shooting the same weight of BB at the same muzzle velocity will have the same energy.
so why the different FPS limits on pistols?

They hold the airsofters to the same chrony rules as the paintballers. No amount of talking has been able to change that. Shitty, but it is a decent field.

Then chrony with the heaviest weight BB you can get! Since they only seem to be concerned about FPS.

You'd have to see the area that this rule was instated for...

it is WAY To close to be using 390 FPS AEG's :P This thread was put up to review our FPS rules and that's what we're intending on doing!

Really?

I never thought the MAA's rules for FPS were that bad.

Yes, you can quote me on the fact I actually thought the MAA did something right ;) LOL

depends on the pistol some can attain stupid velocities look at the digicon ones.

A friend of mine has a WA ProKiller Mk.II F4 with the 4" slide and compensator. We added a silencer, and replaced the inner barrel with one that's 8" long, and it shoots 400+fps. FULL AUTO.

I got hit with it in the kidney, and it felt like I was pelted with a baseball.

FOX_111 October 28th, 2008 01:22

I came across a DE GBB that shot well over 450fps... Depending on the day using propane.

I really hate to say this, but alittle hotter fps helps with people that don't call there hits :) I know it's not the right way to look at it ,but....
I see some hotter fps limits and I think you would really have to see the area there being used in to make any kind of judgment, but thats just me. Ower games have been I think pretty standard.
400 fps Full auto(outdoors)
350 fps indoors
470 fps Semi (I might be alittle of on this one)
I do think that I'v seen a bit of a trend with hotter pistols showing up at games !
Have to remember that nothings written in stone for any given area :)

Province: Northwest Territories
"Club" or "Group" you play with: yk woodsball

Outdoors --
FPS Limit on Pistols: None, but considered to be <350fps
FPS Limit on auto-capable AEG's:400fps
FPS Limit on Semi-auto only AEG's:435fps
FPS Limit on Bolt action snipers:500fps
Can some one get "Certified" and be granted the ability to use a higher FPS gun:No
If so, what's the highest "Certified" FPS you'll allow:N/A

Indoors --
Do you play with auto or semi only: No local indoor site available. Same limits due to temp. sites.
What is your FPS Limit: N/A
Is your FPS Limit different depending on the gun: N/A
What facial protection is REQUIRED: Certified Goggles or Glasses
Do you allow pyro grenades (If yes, please elaborate how you test them): Yes. We test to make sure they're safe for our situation, then play with them.

FPS Limits on Pistols: same
FPS Limit on auto-capable (If your club uses this): same
FPS Limit on Semi-auto only AEG's: same
FPS Limit on (lol) Bolt Action Snipers (If this doesn't apply, just put "N/A"): same

Aim for the teeth, ears, fingers and if they're male shoot their balls. Nothing like a stream of white going to the groin. Watch out with the m1a1... a burst with it is a stream.... I had some one stand up into the stream once and i was nolonger shooting him in the chest if you know what i mean.

seriously though if someone isnt calling their hits i have no problem UNLOADING some white bbs anywhere skin is exposed! we wear full face masks where we play but EVEN if we could wear gogles only I wouldnt cause i shoot for anything open.... you need to feel them dont ya?

FOX_111 October 29th, 2008 23:41

Our team aproach to "Non callers" is simple. Like in real gunfights, some people are harder to drop. Some are just using drugs to stay up. So a larger amount of bullets (BBs) are required to drop that tango. We don't do a fuss about it, we just keep shooting untill that ennemy is "dead". If it become unsafe, we juste go see the guy and have him wise up or removed from play.

No bitching, no wining. Just fun. And no need to hurt the person.
