That's the one I was looking at, just gotta wait till the weekend to get my hands on it :)

As for Gage, me and a couple dozen off my DP1 were requested to be attached to 4AD for OP: Podium next year. Hopefully this means I'll get some more courses done while I'm there :D

Magnum Stealth Force 8.0
Picked up a pair yesterday before work, broke them in, then went back for a second pair today. Just finished putting a couple coats of polish on the first pair :D

I had a very bad experience with magnum boots. So as a few work collegues.

How much did you pay for them? How they water proof?

Mine where awfull on my feets after a lot of walking. Laces undoing themself often, taking on water by merely walking in shallow water puddle. They even gave me blister when just sitting around in a patrol car... Go figure!

And in winter, the faux leather laminated on the front and side of the boot came appart...

I hope they improved, as I need a cheap pair of boot to walk in deep mud and deep water.

Haven't had problems with them yet, but I've only been wearing Magnums since January.
I can't imagine them being too waterproof though, but I wear Goretex socks in the field anyway when its wet out. The Stealth's that I've got have a 'free' tongue at half way (know what I mean?), the Stealth II's on the other hand have a connected tongue all the way up.

ps. Price for these were about $130 per pair from Mark's, the Stealth II's were $20 or so cheaper. If you look online (ie. eBay) you can get them cheaper yet. I got a pair of Stealth II Zippers for a little less then $100 shipped.

anyone got old school OD?

warbird February 11th, 2009 22:17

You mean for sale or are you just asking?

Skladfin February 12th, 2009 13:25

asking

Danke February 12th, 2009 13:36

I've got a bunch of old OD. I'd wear it if I could find period web gear and a C1A2 (or a SMG). Right now it's just saved for yard work.

warbird February 12th, 2009 17:42

I have old OD stuff, but I'm not planning on using it.

i have an old OD jacket but the sleeves are too tight feels like im wearing a t shirt

ive had a pair of magnums for.... 2.5 years now. i use them every sunday for gameing, we have wet marshy areas that i go through regularly. the work extreemly well, the use to keep water out, but i havent sealed the seams for some time, but they still are water reistant. the boot finish (i havent exposed them to extreem cold) is still intact. the only issue youve raised that i can agree on is the laces untying themselves, but if thats a problem you can replace with kevlar laces. i would reccommend trying them again fox, they are a great boot.

I've got OD's, M1 Helmet w/ two tone camo cover, 82 webbing and an old pair of "combat boots".

Like my avatar, but 90's..ish.

It's actually the 82 bag...

I've made it up with some spare kit I had laying around, 64 frame and a kidney pad...the rest is the 82 parts. I've still got my CP bag though, but this was to see if I could actually low-mount the 82 bag effectively.
