Those are legit.

jtf60 December 12th, 2007 22:14

Sweet, I had seen on the Canadian Army site that there were zipper pockets on the brest posket on the ones there and I was afraid I had gotten ripped off. I absolutely love this pattern and want to do as spot on of an impression as I can of CF. I have a CADPAT ARKTIS 1601 is that accptable? I read on the net somewhere that some CF personel bought there own rigs and one dood was talking about the ARKTIS. I still want an issue or replica of an isse rig though. This thread has been a great source of info for my loadout..thanks alot for the help.

Rukus December 12th, 2007 22:16

Yes I'd say those qualify as being right on. I have a set of fake stuff from CP gear. Generally the fake stuff will be obviously fake, buttons, size tags, velcrow for the name tag and flag on your shoulder would all be good indicators to figure out if it is fake or not, and the rank slip-on flap. My fake stuff actually says Cadpat on it in bold letters lol.

As for the Chest rigs, a lot were buying their own because the tact vest can only hold so much, and lets face it their basic load out was a lot more aggressive than what the tact vest could comfortably handle. There were some that still used the issue tact vest over there, but a majority of the actual combat troops ie the infantry would go over with their own stuff, as well as a few of my arty buddies. Most of the personal vests included more mag pouches, better access to the mags, lots of storage for additional gear like water and more comfort in extreme climates. Some guys just sold their gear to the people coming into the stan rather than taking it home with them after they were done.

jtf60 December 12th, 2007 22:30

Hmmm intresting. Do you know what your MINIMI gunners get issued in the way of rigs? Is it something different than the standard rig?

Ohh.and zeroprime..that is the bodyarmor CF use? Looks fricking awsome. Whatis the name of that and can you tell me where I might be able to get just the shell without ballisitc inserts?

Everyone is issued the same tac vest regardless if you are a Rifleman, Grenadier, Machine Gunner, etc. There are a few vests being trialled, but again they are being issued to everyone they are not specific.

A lot of guys have purchased the CP Gear MoFOCR tac vest. Also TAG, HSGI and Tactical Tailor chest rigs are pretty popular.

I've heard mixed reviews about the CP Gear MoFOCR. The guys you know who have them, what's their thoughts on it?

Hades December 13th, 2007 13:33

I love my tigertactical custom rig. Can hold 12 armalite mags with magpulls (or6 m14 mags with magpulls), 3 pistol mags, 3 mp5 mags, radio and 2 large utility pouches for random shit. Added onto that is the CP gear hydro system, buttpack and also the ice tactical cadpat molle belt and suspender system so I can attach more shit. Would not change my cadpat rig for anything else.

jtf60 December 13th, 2007 16:17

So my ARKTIS is right on even for a MINIMI gunner then...I beleive it is a C9? I am assumeing the gunner would carry loose ammo in the MAGPOUCHES then? Or possibly 100rnd mag pouches?

[Lithium] December 13th, 2007 18:29

Box magazines are the way of the future for the gunner

Okay thanks for the info. I reallt appreciate the help.

As promised..updated vest/carrier pics....also a little custom something my Wife made for me for my upcoming birthday. A Cadpat *Lettered* coaster.

Vest and Carrier first.
Vest can carry 16 AR mags, has two fragmentation grenade pouches (for carrying "Warmonger Special's") a trip pistol mag pouch and an admin pouch. Not shown is the CPgear cadpat hydration tube cover.

Fits better, looks better, works better.:D Roll / fold and tape the straps that are set again it's a clean look thing, and you'll reduce drag. I don't see why it suck to be honest, I like the kevlar vest style that covers entire chest over partial in my opinion. Also all I found for those are like sewn on which is superduper sad when it comes for customizing, espcially most CADPAT vest I like have too many pouches that most people wont use(2 grenade pouch, 2 large pouch, 1 medium) and so few mag pouch (4 single)

Anyways, yea that vest style may work well for Airsoft, but for a lot of people in the Army it sucks.. especially since we get issued 10 mags, etc, etc.

If you want too see some reviews on it, search around the army.ca forums.

isn't the pic one double stack mag pouch with four of em? It shouldn't be a problem compare to people I know in USMC with 16 mags and 6 slots total mag pouch

The 200 Rd boxes will fit and the pouches were designed for that purpose. You can carry on the left or right or both as they issue interchangeable pouches for each side. You switch out from the canteen pouch.

Crunchmeister February 26th, 2008 19:05

I finally have my loadout almost complete, except for the CADPAT camelback I have on order from the local surpus store and a CADPAT double pistol mag pouch that's on the way. Can't say my loadout is authentic CF, but it's CADPAT.

Frontenac pants
Issue Gen 1 CADPAT shirt
Issue (surplused) CF helmet with CADPAT cover
CF Gortex boots
CADPAT drop leg holster
CADPAT drop leg dump pouch
CADPAT M4 tac vest (yeah, it's cheap, but gotta start somewhere, right?)
CADPAT belt
OD knee pads (my one piece of non-CADPAT kit - not seen in this pic)

http://photos-b.ak.facebook.com/phot...85649_5424.jpg

Yes, the pic is a very bad Photoshop edit of me superimposed on a pic from Afghanistan...

And here's another one without the tac vest and dump pouch. Had an ABS PASGT helmet at the time.

immortalundead February 26th, 2008 19:07

i saw a surplus at a surplus nearby that has a copy of the canadian vest, if you ever wanted one :D, nice look to your gear thought

Crunchmeister February 26th, 2008 19:11

I've had the chance to inspect the issue CF vest and I can't say I like it much. Not enough mag pouches for my liking. There was a well used one at the local surplus store a couple of months ago that I almost bought, but decided against it. This one seemed to suit my needs for airsoft quite well. But it all looks good and seems to work fine, so that's what matters most to me in the end. I've got the CF look more or less, and that's what I care about.

immortalundead February 26th, 2008 19:17

ya, just bringing it up, didnt know if you where looking for one, good setup either way, and thats what its about, using what works

Kaelythir February 26th, 2008 20:51

Crunchmeister February 27th, 2008 00:19

Kaelythir February 27th, 2008 01:00

For sure. Pretty good setup by the way; I know CADPAT stuff can be pretty hard to come by sometimes.

it all depends, my issued vest does well when i need something that looks pritty on a parade square! other then that it's FKING useless!!!

not enough room for mags room for mags total of 4 mag pouches on vest, not enough room for belt ammo or 40mm grenades no storage room atal to top it off. most guys that go over to Afganistan in my unit have bought chest rigs like these or that exact model and the cf is allowing them to be used overseas because you require a minimum of 10 mag's, and deppending on mission or situation depends on what ammo you may expel but you alwase want enough, my friends have been in fire fights where they had 16 mags and they were still speed loading mags in battle!
he was at the front of OP Medusa

1) https://dstactical.com/product_info....roducts_id=757

2) https://dstactical.com/product_info....roducts_id=758

to face facts the CF Tac Vest is pritty, but not effctive in combat!
if your in a firefight and you gotta dig in your pack for other mags or ammo you are renderd combat inefective for that time and make a pritty target!!

Speaking for myself only i think its SHIT, and i know others who will agree but diffiernt people have different opinions.

Just wanted to add a photo of my team here in Winnipeg, MB. We call our selves the 6th Combat Battle Group (6CBG). It is a shot from last season, so there are only 15 of us in the photo (2 X 6-man infantry sections and an HQ Detatchment). We had 7 additional members that couldn't make it out that OP. This year we are over 30. Finally got my short platoon. :)

Lookin good though, makes me want to do an old CScotts impression with my DPM smock.

IndiaSixTwo March 11th, 2008 18:13

Actually all our headgear comes direct from Logistics-Unicorp. I just have to teach all the new guys how to properly form and wear them. All of our gear is 100% Canadian.

Lerch March 11th, 2008 18:25

Cap bagdes too? They look like those yank shields that hold rank...

IndiaSixTwo March 11th, 2008 18:27

We made them ourselves. Instead of using the Canadian Airborne Regiment cap badges (I am the only member who served) we made a sky blue shield and used a pegasus pin as our unit insignia. We use a locally manufactured SSF patch though.

Bull April 13th, 2008 23:30

Photo of myself last year at Operation Hammerstrike II at Copehill Down, Salisbury. Went for a full CF impression, myself and 4 others in Northern Ireland are currently using CADPAT gear as a loadout. Tacvest will soon be "updated" with a few extra bits, namely a small E & E pack and a few extra mag pouches.

BDUs etc are all reproduction. It's very costly and hard to get ANY CADPAT gear over here, so the Frontenac after-market BDUs are pretty much all that are available. Planning on some DZ Tac BDUs sooner rather than later however.

x2 The RSM is the only reason to use the bottom drawstring on the shirt. ;)

Now removed! Updated pics will be up after my next airsoft game whereby there will be a full squad of us in CADPAT goodness.

Noted a chap a few pages back mentioning the tiger tactical plate carriers, just to confirm they are top notch quality. Got one a while back. It's a little bulky for my current loadout (and im bulky enough) but it's a solid carrier, and will fit most replica SAPI plates.

a picture from Sundays scrim over here in Manitoba.
my teams new Arid uniforms came in recently, still no sign on our updated arid badges though :(

Using Arid on the field was a blast. standing up, we stuck out pretty clearly, but once we hit the ground, players had a Very hard time spotting us! Perfect for early and late season we're finding.

The molle attachments that CPgear sells which replace the Canteen/C9 pouches should be ordered real soon.

what other mods did you do to yours beyond the attachments just mentioned?

Zekk05 April 14th, 2008 13:57

whats IFAK stand for ?

-MikeL-, do you find the tacvest mods add to the practicality of the vest without sacrificing too much maneuverability?

How does it add to the *limited* practicality of the tacvest?

Goodl2ussian April 14th, 2008 20:53

Infidel April 14th, 2008 23:49

It's crazy to think that people in Hong Kong would dress up like Canadian Soldiers. I actually think that is pretty awesome.

pugs144 April 22nd, 2008 12:53

Ahh..the fabled JTF2 chest rig, referred to on the label as a "bra".:D

Foofighter April 22nd, 2008 13:11

I just noticed that those even look like the issued Ballistics. I see the case on your left shoulder. Just a warning, the plastic buckle on that case is super weak and it will get knocked off eventually. So you had better hope that when it does you or someone else notices it or else it's gone.
