Got mine today! love it, gonna have to hit up Huang tomorrow and get some things for it. Threw my TM reducer on it for shits and giggles but it seems like it actually causes the bolt to lock back even with a full mag. hmmmm interesting

Got mine yesterday. Had the girlfriend get the package... she decorated the package while I was at work with rainbows.

Solid gun, put a Vortex Sparc on it. Mags are silly but that's fine. Little hard to grab them out of the taco's, I'm sure I will work something out.

Now to find the best weight bb tomorrow. Thinking .4g's, but after what stryak said, maybe a lighter bb to not potentially damage the hopup?

Unless it was something else that was funky with it.

I disassembled and took out the hopup rubber. Looked a little dirty/sandy/greasy (the area I was playing in had sandy soil). Washed it off inside and out with warm soapy water and hopefully it's back to normal now. Will see what happens the next time I use it.

Andres, doesn't look like the hopup rubber was worn or damaged at all. It was probably just dirty/greasy but only time will tell once I test it at long range again.

Good to hear.

I was having problems getting consistent hopup at the beginning of my game today, but by the end of it I think I shot out the grease/oil from the hopup unit and it was hopping good for most shots.

I love it!

Although one of the mags started leaking pretty bad (before its first game!) so I have to reseal that.

Viperfish May 1st, 2011 21:22

So i figured out what the bolt locking issue was (at least i think i did)

if you look at the front of the mag you will note on the right side it is smooth the whole way down. If you look at the front of an extra mag you will notice a notch cut into the same same, this notch seems to make sure the bolt catch amr is not interfered with. so i simply filed the notch into the problem mag and BAM works like a charm.

Took a few (lot) of patches and cleaned out the barrel thoroughly today. There was a lot of oil and gunk in there, so that's probably what was causing hell with my hopup. Squeaky clean gun now.

I'm very interested in one of these for a project rifle... absolutely love the look with a wood stock.

Anyone ordered the m1 carbine wood kit yet?
If so; whats the fit? any modification required?

Will have my Kjw 10-22 next week and want to order one.

That thing is ugly. It's so wide at the front.

Just got mine; I'm really please with the look and ergonomics of this little beast.
Now i' gonna clean the barrel and wait for my mags and my m1 wood kit. :)

My new KJW 10-22

Will use it as a DMR platform (need a scope...) and also as a ww2 m1a1 carbine (wood kit ordered)

So simple to switch between the 2

Colors are more subdued in person and not as shiny...

Styrak...

U disassembled the gun before. Was it pretty straight forward? I got a longer barrel for mine.

Mind posting more info or maybe a video on disassemble? Hehe... Thanks. ;)

It's amazingly simple. Couple screws and you're down to the hopup and barrel. Look up RATech's videos on Youtube. They do a dis-assembly and reassembly to install a new inner barrel and some other stuff, but you only need to pay attention to the dis-assembly down to the hopup.

In other news, I left my 10/22 lying against a truck and forgot it there. We drove off and a buddy in another vehicle saw it after we left and picked it up. Either our vehicle or another vehicle RAN IT OVER, and the only thing apparently broken was the charging handle. I have to pick it up from my buddy and do a function test, but that's pretty impressive.

Damn!

You're lucky !

SHaKaL June 24th, 2011 18:28

Yeah... Pretty lucky Styrak!

Any new on a npas for it?

I received my M1 Carbine kit the other day. It came with the 6.03 380mm tightbore.
I chrono'ied it at our ww2 game. It was shooting at 470-478 fps with .28g (was about 26-28c that day). Other thing i noticed was the hopup didn't work at all... :(

Could you throw some pics up of the M1 kit?
