Where to Buy PLA based equipment

Here is a small list of places I have found PLA equipment and Uniforms.

Royal Tiger (Hong Kong)

Trident Military (USA)

PLA 60's???

T@NK January 20th, 2011 18:29

king6, don't buy the 07 type BDU unless you got the type 06 combat vest. it's gonna look really odd if you are wearing 07 BDU with other vest.

Type 07? which one?

The CAPF one if that is what your talking about will work with 06 as the only noticeable variation to the camo is velcro instead of buttons on the front of the jackets.

The standard PLA type 07 camo though, won't go well with a 06 vest at all.

I'm more into the type 87 woodland if only I could find a helmet cover in 87 woodland

T@NK January 20th, 2011 19:11

ask Sino, see if he got some, other than that, you can use the USA woodland boonie hat. don't really need a helm for PLA.

And to Najohn, I am talking about this http://www.combat2000forum.net/redir...tpost#lastpost

Kingsix January 20th, 2011 19:32

I can reuse the woodland PASGT I own but having a Cover for my Gk-80 when I get it would be awesome but helmet without a cover is possible I've seen many pictures of troops without helmet covers but I think they are Reserves.

Ebay got alot of PLA gear, just so you guys know

So far, Honesty-Honesty is selling the 01, 91, as well as the 07 vest; while fresh_tea is selling the 02 vest.

I don't see the 06 vest for sale anywhere...

Edit: found it, but it looks shetz

http://pic.yupoo.com/greenarmy/45786...c/zt3nykem.jpg

And it looks like some of them use crossdraw vests...
http://image.ec21.com/image/febybiz/...y_Supplies.jpg

I'm not sure if they've totally standardized the vests by now, but every picture I saw of them got a different load out =P

Kingsix January 20th, 2011 22:33

I swear honestly honestly uses a bot or something to bump up his auction prices. My buddy is currently at $50 for Snow leopard commando patches while I'm at $60 for a GK-80 Steel Helmet if it gets bumped one more time I'd go royal tiger. This kinda blows because honestly honestly does have alot of gear no one else is selling.

T@NK January 21st, 2011 00:13

The 1st pic is the prototype of 06 vest, already got a newer version issued, the 2nd pic is just purely for making a show to the media, its just some cheap clone.

He does. Best advice? just PM him for the prices directly.

Btw, is black a good color for actual firefights? or would I stick out like a thumb? I have the 07 BDU, no vest, and was thinking of buying a black one cause it just looks plain cool...

Also, what do you think of the 07 rig/vest on ebay?

kaiu January 21st, 2011 13:08

Yeah, black sticks out, they are more for intimidation I guess....

It still looks cool anyways... And it is good in the dark :D

Depends how close you want to match you're load-out though...

Dude he's got like a lot of them. Just message him saying the item # u want and you'll get it. Actually he prefers to do that, since you'd be paying him directly w/o going through ebay and he gets a bigger margin. Not that you'd get a discount or anything...

Oh, btw am I the only one who got BDUs that felt like they were of poorer make? I mean the button holes were not properly cut and I had to do it manually with a pair of scissors before I could actually button up. There were fringes and it was single stitched in some areas. I could imagine soldiers in the field getting their BDUs ripped, since it might be cheaper to get a replacement...

To be honest I don't actually see a lot of soldiers wearing their 07 rig with their 07 BDUs. They'd wear type 02 or other woodland most of the time. Also, I see mostly rigs for sale, but not actual plate carriers or even vests.

Also, I've never seen any winter jackets in 07 camo pattern. Is it possible that they only wear the brown/desert one during winters? 07 series also doesn't have any snow camo, and the only white uniform is the old urban one worn by the flying tigers...

Edit: They do have 07 winter jackets lol

People's Armed Police is apart of the PLA, and SLCU is just a branch from them, so theoretically, they are apart of the PLA.

T@NK January 21st, 2011 21:29

No, Armed police is not a part of PLA. I assume you can read Chinese?

T@NK January 22nd, 2011 13:53

these are the ranks for Army and 2nd artillery force, air force and navy use different background colour, also these patches can't fit on the old type bdu, they only fit in 07 BDU
1,second lieutenant
2, lieutenant
3, captain
4,major
5, lieutenant colonel
6, colonel
7,senior colonel or brigadier

Lol leave it to the japs, whether its airsoft or PLA gear. They actually have quite a lot of stuff, 100 yen=1 USD right? Also, shipping must be expensive. aquamarine an ASC member?

Btw, what helmet does PLA use now?

Lol, the M9 bayonet, now the PASGT helmet? They say imitation is the highest form of flattery. Guess its just that good, although I wouldn't mind a little innovation. I'd feel weird wearing a helmet without wearing a plate carrier tho... So I guess no helmet for me till I get the 06

Cifyra February 8th, 2011 18:36

Are their tactical belts a clone of any existing belt? I haven't seen any genuine ones so far

Kingsix February 8th, 2011 19:15

Maybe the tactical belt they where using was something made only for Photo ops.

Cifyra February 14th, 2011 16:22

B

http://img301.imageshack.us/img301/8421/platype07.jpg
It looks like its got a star on it. Maybe it IS for photo ops, but they must have a type of belts they issue to their troops =P
I have the leather belt meant for inspection use, and I could probably use that for matches. But it'd be nice to go that extra step for realism =P

Anyways, I got the type 07 undershirt as well as the Lt. patches and the Beijing division patch. It was during that time I noticed that the buttons did not line up right. Probably due to hasty manufacturing, the buttons did not line up with the holes. However, if I remove the buttons and re-attach them, it should work out. Just to give you guys a pointer if you are indeed buying from honesty-honesty or other retailers. Apparently there was a batch of type 07 uniform that was hastily made to meet the deadline for the 60th anniversary parade. Guess who do they sell those surplus to after the parade?

That's right, us airsofters never get anything decent like a QBZ-95 or a QSZ-92... mumble mumble...

/end rant

Good thing I'm willing to do some sewing, so if the single stitching of my uniform does indeed break in the future, I'll just do a double stitching on it. Think of it like upgrading a shitty AEG XD

Edit: Found the product. It's being sold by honesty-honesty and it appears to be the one used on the Cross draw tactical vest, with a star in the buckle.

Nikodemus February 20th, 2011 17:03

I have been trying to put together a type 03 plateau camouflage outfit for awhile now and apart from the BDUs I can find nothing. Does anyone know if they made a vest or any other gear in this pattern? I havent even been able to find a picture of any gear in type 03, let alone a place that has some for sale.

Kingsix February 20th, 2011 17:28

http://s60.radikal.ru/i170/0904/99/0482a35030b9.jpg
I have a sneaking feeling that the Type 03 vest seen in this picture was made only for photo ops.

http://strikehold.files.wordpress.co...pg?w=333&h=500

I'm still getting alot of PLA troops wearing the Type 03 Camo with the woodland vest.

T@NK February 20th, 2011 18:02

the so called 03 vest is just a 02 paratrooper vest in tibetan camo

Nikodemus February 20th, 2011 18:17

I have seen that first picture before, on a camo website I think, but never heard of anyone having one. My uniform is pretty green dominant so my chicom isnt a bad match.

Just curious since most of the type 03 I have seen is repro stuff. But no repro vests?

Kingsix February 20th, 2011 18:27

you could always get the Tan chi-com to blend with the mainly tan 03 uniform.

http://www.globaltimes.cn/www/englis...07/556274.html
this article can explain about knockoff uniforms they are just too sexy to go away.

Nikodemus February 20th, 2011 18:39

I was thinking of picking up a tannish chicom. 7.62 Tactical makes some nice AK rigs with molle replacing the small pouches. Bit off topic now though. Thanks for the info.

Kingsix February 21st, 2011 18:21

Just a heads up trident military now has the type 01 riflemen vest and woodland assault backbacks.

Cliffradical February 22nd, 2011 10:38

PLA gear is kickin' rad.

I'd love to put together some kit (especially in Tibetan camo) But I'm worried that I won't find anything that will fit my flabby North American body.

Short Round February 22nd, 2011 11:32

I got my BDU from Honesty Honesty in the mail yesterday.

It is very thin and is quite large on me (atleast the pants are) however it is still wearable.

Quality wise, I can't tell if it is real or not. Comes with the collar patches, heck every button on the pants and jacket has a CAPF seal inprinted on it.

However, I did find a flaw, one of the buttons on the jacket came broken, thankfully I have family members that sew and can fix this.

Other then that, as long as I wear clothing underneath it I will be fine.

i will post photos when I go home again

Which BDU did you buy? I bought the Type 07 Urban Camo from him and if you've read my earlier post, it's not quite as sturdy most BDUs, yet still sturdier than the clothes that you wear everyday. I doubt that it is fake but perhaps front line troops are using newer and better versions of this BDU. The following review might help you, but mind you, he's probably of a slightly bigger "build" and you must take that into consideration when he says stuff such as his BDU being tight in the "crotch and seat area".
http://www.airsoftforum.com/board/lo...p/t148139.html

includes cap! as i later found out, the urban camoflage above is a transitional version. somewhere along the line in 07, production on the real camo was delayed and an identical version made out of really cheap light material with flimsy single stitching used to make up for the shortfall.

From what I was told most asian BDUs are made to be thin and worn with under clothing, not made like your traditional north american bdus.

Makes sense, as it's quite hot in some parts of China (south, where I'm from ^^) while it can get quite cold in other parts (north I've been told). I might eventually invest in a winter jacket in the 07 urban pattern.

Right, so it's a "if you have relatives in China..." kinda thing?

What do they accept as payment, and do they ship to Hong Kong?

You could always just email, msn, or message the guy in QQ and see if he can ship overseas... He is probably the owner of the store, so you never know...

Look at the banks he lists, I'm sure there are a few that you will be able to do a money transfer too.

I think there is an ICBC Bank in Pacific and First Markham... Money Orders/Transfers can be done at Canada Post or Western Union to some banks, and he lists a China Post account.

Got a quick question here, I'm a tall and also a north american style fatty (6'3" 250lbs).
Do I have any hope of finding properly fitting Chinese BDU's?

I'd love to put together some PLA kit but I have a feeling that their fitness standards mean that even a large will feel like a corset.
Shoulder width may also be a concern.

Can any of you guys offer a guess/ advice?

faithless March 21st, 2011 22:05

@Cliffradical

You probably can fit into shirt and jacket, but will have a hard time to find pants, depends on your size.

I am chinese and 5'11 225lbs, and I wear large for shirt, XL or sometime XXL for pants. (Chinese size) I ordered some BDU from Chinese supplier, and their size chart are pretty off. I wear 32x30 usually but I can only fit into a 34x30 or even 36x30.

It is probably the best order a size up.

I recently bought this off ebay, being the closest thing to a real Chinese Forces dog tag I could own. Even tho it wasn't well made and had defects, it wasn't something a little bit of sand paper and polishing couldn't fix.

But I just want to know a bit more information about the unit in question, the "Chinese Paratrooper Special Forces". I can't type Chinese so I'll have to ask for help from you guys.

Thanks!

kaiu April 8th, 2011 21:34

I typed it in Traditional Chinese, but changing it to Simplified should be easy enough...

中國空陸特種部隊

特種作戰隊員

Tank, is that the unit you guys were playing as a while ago?
15th airborne? I'm just curious =/

T@NK April 8th, 2011 23:18

15thABc is a paratrooper corps, under the command of PLAF, they have 2 special forces in service right now, 1st one is Task force of the Air force , more like a fast reaction unit; the other is called 武装侦察大队, direct translate is: Force recon brigade. My team is the second one.

I've seen Naval SOF and Army SOF using that logo, but never seen any Air force SOF use that. I can't say the Air force SF doesn't use this logo, they are the special force after all. On the other hand, all the SOF members of navy, Army and AF have acquired airborne qualification, so those quotes on the dog tag can't really tell you whether they are navy or army of AF guys;plus, real SF operators won't wear that dog tag on them, it is stupid.

Yea. No I just bought it cause it looked cool, and I doubt I could ever get my hands on real dog tags. Still, I always thought that logo was army only. Guess that explains why some of them had it during the Somalia missions

Oh wait, anyone knows if it can be mounted on a QBU-88?

Anyways, even if it doesn't mount, I'll still need a rubber knife for my loadout

T@NK May 26th, 2011 17:05

QBU88 doesn't have a bayonet mount base, you can buy the plastic m9 knife from Huang, I got 1 from him and it can be mount on my type 97.

M9 and the PLA knife are cross-compatible? Never knew that, that's cool.

Sucks it doesnt have a mount base, now I can't poke people with it like a spear :( (probably a good thing)

completely clone from the SPEAR system. it was first 'designed' for the shot gun carrier system, and then they decided to make it into the type 95-1 riflemen kit, but it's not a done deal yet, type 06 molle vest would still be the primary in the long run.

it is still available as i know but difficult to get it to your home from China, the supplier may not know how to forward it to you….

Kingsix January 29th, 2012 07:27

I belive wingmant@nk said the 01 vest is 07 urban and Highland are not offically issued items. They are being used for testing purposes.

Royaltiger (yes again would be nice if they started paying me for advertising haha) Have the 01 vest in 07 urban and Highland in stock.

For the rest of us that aren't lucky enough to get 06 or 07 vest, still using 01,02.Type 56,Type 81 or other chestrigs and vest we now have a option.

07 Digital Urban 01 vest $65.88
http://www.royaltigergear.com/images/pla_07_tacvest.jpg

07 Digital Highland $77.48
http://www.royaltigergear.com/images...gh_tacvest.jpg

And the item of intrest beside the Digital marine uniform
http://www.royaltigergear.com/images..._leg_pouch.jpg
07 Leg pouch set $20.98

With OP rino coming around the corner the possiblity of matching vest and bdus are tempting.

this is because they are ordered from some military who still not issued the 06 vest, so they ordered the 01 vest in 07 camo to use. these are not issue items but the pla willing to use it.

Are those a soft vest or do they have plates? I've heard the chinese plates are armoured steel or maybe like the older russian vest titanium plates compared to the western boron carbide or silicon carbide ceramic plates.

Or maybe they have the technology to make them (They have 4th generation stealth fighters, carriers, carrierkilling missles) but steel/titanium plates are cheaper.

Can anyone help me with region arm patch? We need patches for Chengdy, but I can't read Chinese at all :(

I think it is Chengdu Military Region(成都军区) locating in Southwest part of China.

Has alot of the older PLA uniforms, equipment Sino-Vietnam war. Prices are pretty low so it's worth it to take a look once in a while to see if they have anything new to sell.

thanks for the info, but I mainly WTB the new 07 ones.

Kingsix April 28th, 2012 07:20

Ebay's always good, Royaltiger can outfit you head to toe in 07 gear that doesn't fall apart I still have my 07 urban uniform, a friend of mine has the 07 desert. I'm thinking about the digital marines pattern one of these days. Nowadays even 01 vest are available in 07 digital urban and highland from royal tiger. Shipping is somewhat of a bitch from that site sometimes.

Yeah I'm pretty late, somehow didn't see the post.

Doesn't look that far off from the 06 vest, what's the estimate on pricing?

Will it hold AK mags?
