Best LiPo Battery and Charger?

To read the title, one would assume this question has been asked numerous times and this is just a re-post.

The truth is, my question is more specifically which is the best balancing LiPo charger available on this list in the $35-$45 range?

Also, I'm looking for an 11.1V 20C LiPo battery in this style or anything shorter than an 8 cell stick battery:

It must be available on this is as well.

I just bought a new SIG 552, and the battery choice are limited which is ok, but I simply know nothing about LiPo battery or charger manufacturers, and I don't know what makes are good or bad. Educated opinions on this matter are highly appreciated.

:)

Why don't you buy from a local retailer? Try AirsoftStore.ca or Airsoftparts both have great prices..... I run a 11.1v Genace LiPo they are great and fit into any stock out there. Almost forgot shipping is insanely fast for either. For $45 pick up a tenergy balance charger.

Cheers

Because there are several other things I need from eHobby, and I would prefer to order them all at the same time and only pay shipping once. They also have more things in stock and have a better selection than most places. The prices from them are almost always better too.

Most of those chargers in the $35-45 range are really the same, just packaged differently.

If you own a couple of them, you'll know what I mean.

Buy the charger in country atleast in case there are any malfunctions with it. It is a whole lot easier to deal with retailers here then in Asia. Also for batteries check out hobby king

Agreed with all the above plus you wont save much orderin from ehobby. Yes i know sometimes they have wht u need/want and u cant get it here but look at how the shipping goes up every time you ad somethin to the cart add that to duties and you actually will pay more.
Then if you get a mucked up charger or battery your gonna have to pay to ship it back and then prolly pay duties again when your replacement comes kn

I don't know which is the best of that lot, but I'm going to pick the following because it appears to be a clone of the venerable B6AC.

That battery is probably fine too, although it is 0.5mm wider than recommended by ICS...

My experience is limited to the V6AC charger from a local shop and the Turnigy nano-tech batteries from Hobby King.

Wow, that is extremely helpful. Thanks. I even tried calling them. Word of advice: NEVER call China.

Wait you really called in china for a battery charger... just the call is gonna cost you more than the charger XD

Ayashifx55 February 27th, 2013 17:35

You're a bit late. I had few Imax B6AC chargers for sale for only 60$ shipped. :(

I got my 3S 2000mAH Lipo from HobbyKing for $14.00

I called ICS to find out what battery fit in my gun. Then, for some reason, after I got to my desired department, it played "it's a small world after all" in some horrible beeping tune, like a toy from a dollar store, then it went silent.

charger

If I can throw my two cents in.....

after being in the RC hobby for nearly 20 years, and airsoft for 5, I can tell you that spending the extra cash and getting a great (not just "good") charger is WELL worth the expense: this is especially true when charging Lipos. For $100 - $150 (I know that sounds like a lot) you can get a charger from a well-known and respected company that has been around for decades, and it will charge anything you throw at it for the next ten years. I personally recommend the Triton charger from Great Planes. It charges ANY battery type, can run off 12v OR A/C, and comes with all the special connectors you need to balance Lipo batteries. Quality charging is the difference between a battery with a 100-charge life, and a battery with a 1000-charge life! Surf over to Great Hobbies and check it out.

It's hard to justify spending that much on a charger when you can save $100 and use that money to buy 6 more battery packs. Sort of like buying a Systema when you could buy five KWA guns for the same price. Like where does one draw the line between good and gratuitous?
