CADPAT ASG CZ Scorpion EVO A1

Alright, I know you probably just came for the pictures, so go ahead, I'll wait here if you have any questions.

Back? Alright. So just a heads up, this was my first project, first time picking up a spray gun, and first... pretty much everything. So go a little easy on me.

First off, what was used: CADPAT light green, Dark green, and Brown from https://www.duracoatfirearmfinishes.com/ Also the stencils from the same company.

I figured I'd cheap out and not buy black as that was the starting colour of my gun. Instead I cleaned it, added the stencils for what I wanted to keep black, and then painted her light green. Cue minor shock as I realize what I have done and hope I don't end up looking like a toy soldier with a bright green gun running around the battlefield.

After some quick masking I painted it the dark green which I would be okay with should it never change colour again. Finally I used the 'female' stencils and added the brown straight to the gun, then removed all the masking/stencils. I'm pretty happy with how the gun turned out. The mags and grip and ACOG were much harder as the stencils REALLY didn't like anything but a flat surface, so I think they could be better, but I'm okay with how they came out.

Overall, I was happy with the paint from duracoat, but I'd try and find some stencils from somewhere else were I to do it again.

All in all this took me probably 10-14 hours of making my own stencils to add to the paltry handful the stencil kit came with and applying them, about 4 hours actually setting up/painting/tearing down 3 times and about an hour or two of disassembly and reassembly before and after.

PS. the ACR in the painting pictures is not my own, but a friends who came along for the ride. We split the costs evenly and painted together.

*Edit 1 Seems ASC won't allow me to upload the images... I'll see if I can host them on a third party and get a link.

*Edit 2: (here you go! Sorry if you get ads but ASC won't allow me to upload directly. :( )

Thanks! it was easier than I expected it to be, but much more time consuming and mind numbing than I hoped it would be :p
