You should generally use duster with plastic slides. If you inspect the thing and see no cracks, then just switch to duster and it should be fine. If there is a crack, it would probably have been on the slide instead of the frame.
If it is cracked, you need to buy a new slide, either plastic or metal. Plastic is cheaper and you must use the weaker duster gas. Metal is expensive, requires the stonger green gas/propane, and possibly an upgraded spring guide (but is much better looking, feeling, and blowbacking/recoilingilingiling).
