I believe RA Tech has a short barrel kit for the m14 and i think it will fit the ebr, cant see why it wouldn't. With the kit you could have both. A longer barrel has more corrected flight time and therefore should have better accuracy, but you trade off the extra mobility by having 4-6 inches more barrel sticking out the end. I love the m14 ebr too so i hope you do get one
