If you're going to go box mag, MAG brand are the better nut sacks to get, but they are still going to break and are prone to failure (both from the push button wire being pinched, the internal gears breaking, and from failure of the box's plastic ceiling from the gun resting on it).

All of our M249 gunners switched over the LARGE mid caps (some chinese branded 200 round mid caps). Not perfect. But a hell of a lot more reliable than the box mags will ever be. They miss feed like you wouldn't believe after 10,000 rounds-ish.
