To answer some of that... You
can blow a ton of money on a top notch scope for Airsoft, but it's really not nessasary. Airsoft guns don't have anywhere near the range and accuracy that most scopes provide, so it's a case of over kill. You can protect the front lens with a piece of polycarbonate, but I've used scopes for years, never had one break... although I've had two watches shatter on me.
Reticules are tricky. If the seller doesn't post a picture of it, the only suggestion I can give is to track the scope down on the internet elsewhere and see if you can find it that way. If you are age verified, check the for sale section... I got a killer deal on a scope in there with a nice illuminated reticule.
