Worn pinion gear
Hey,
I was checking up my new AEG before tomorrow's OP.... and realised my pinion gear was significantly worn. It still works, but I'm afraid it could cause more damage, so I'm wondering: would using it anyways be possible without breaking anything else? I don't really cares if it's just wearing down the pinion even more since I'll have to buy a new one anyway... On the pics, the worn motor is my G&P M120 and the other is a TM EG1000 for comparison. On a sideline, how in hell do I change a pinion gear? Thanks! Conker EDIT: Pics ![]() ![]()

Use a pinon gear puller. Or if you have a table vice, clamp it and use a small nail and hammer to tap it out.

Simplest solution is to buy a new motor.
Also, that's a lot of wear. You should probably figure out why it's doing that (maybe your motor height is off by a lot?) |

to mutch pressure on the gears. Either to mutch torque on the adjustment screw or a mis shimmed gear in the box....
easy to remove.. to 1/8 plate of steel, a hammer and a drive punch

A G&P M120 is about 40$ while a pinion gear is 9$...

As for the dremel, mine is just friggin shitty so I'l need a new one. I guess I'll try the pinion removal tool, it will be a good thing to have anyway. Thanks for the tips guys.
